Creating and Preserving Your Disney Vacations Minimize

For so many of our members a trip to a Disney park represents a special time spent together. For some to celebrate life with a 5th or 85th birthday, others accomplishments with graduations or life changes like marriage.  For others it's a fair well, special memories of a last trip of a beloved family member or like many of us it's a time where we can be a kid again and forget our troubles for just a little while. Whatever stage of life you visit it's important to preserve those memories with photos. This section will contain information on photography and more to help you create and preserve those memories.

Smile! Click! And another magical Disney memory is saved for posterity.  It’s just that simple, or it can be with a little planning. Capturing those Disney memories on digital images or on film starts before leaving home.  Choose a camera that is simple to use and easy to carry.  A large bulky camera with lots of attachments and features may take fantastic pictures, but if you get tired of carrying it, even the longest lens won’t work from the trunk of your car! So, now we have a camera that you can carry… but can you use it?  Read those directions… yes, I’m talking to you… you can do this.  Then practice, practice, practice.  First, learn your camera’s features, where the battery goes, how to load the film or replace the memory card.  Next identify how the zoom and flash work; most cameras have several flash modes including red-eye reduction and no-flash modes.  (Some shows in the parks prohibit flash photography). Now that you know how to use your camera, it won’t do much without power, so don’t forget the batteries.  Keep extras on hand either disposables or rechargeable batteries with a charger.  With these extras, you will need to keep it all together in a sturdy case, just in case the Rockin’ Roller Coaster is on the agenda.  And if Splash Mountain is more your style, it better be water resistant.

Everyone is gathered in front of Cinderella’s castle for “that” picture that everyone just “has” to get.  Again.  Don’t worry if somebody’s Mickey Mouse ears just blew off and everybody cracked up.  Spontaneity and mistakes can make some of the best memories great pictures!  Have fun, think outside the box, be creative!

OK, one last thing, how many times have you shared your vacation pictures only to have everyone ask where YOU were? You weren’t in any of the pictures. Sometimes you have to share, that’s right share the camera, for an hour, for a day or by the park.  Spread the joy and cherish the magical memories you will save forever.
